We expected a fantastic meal but we were surprised at just how beautiful the restaurant was and how spectacular the view. This stunning restaurant has a variety of spaces for dinner and would be perfect for an intimate meal, a work celebration or a large client dinner. Only one of us managed a desert.

the serve is excellent and there is plenty of amenities to keep you occupied – including a spa, fitness centre, two restaurants, outside patio, Starbucks Coffee and lots of conference and meeting space for those organising events in the city. The hotel itself is a little dated but it is clean and comfortable.

Walking into the Lobby Bar at One Aldwych will always evoke some powerful memories but yet I have never stayed in the hotel or eaten in one of the restaurants. So when I was invited to sample the food and one of the rooms I must say I was excited. The excellent service I had so far continued with the restaurant staff.

The hotel gave me and my husband a warm welcome, a short tour of the main parts of the hotel we’d need – spa, restaurant, bar – and were shown to our room. Your executive can dine formally in the main restaurant, or choose to eat in the more informal conservatory or on the terrace. But that was soon to fade. Top marks for relaxation.

The Mansion does have a restaurant on site called Circa 1886. Prior to leaving for my dinner reservation I did sample a glass of red wine and a few of the hors d’oeuvres. I really was impressed with the room, one of the nicest I have ever stayed in. That unfortunately is where the positives end. I ordered a mojito and my partner in crime ordered a Bloody Mary.
