The shortest route is to look for temp work thru agencies or TaskRabbit, Craiglist, or volunteer. Your best bet is to get a job with an executive that is also climbing the ladder so you follow them as they get promoted. Many pay their dues by working 24/7 the first couple of years before they get more experience or promoted.

State you’d love to be an EA and learn so much you can be promoted to coordinator, director, manager. The most important thing is to take action and do something different so you can get promoted, get better tasks, that raise, or transition to a different role, dept, company, or industry.
