People are undoubtedly the best asset of every firm and having a PA network will help confirm that PA’s are an important and integral part of the organisation. An internal network will help us to build stronger relationships and enable better teamwork, communication and easier delegation and reciprocation of help.
The staffing agent asked if I was open to temp to perm, even though the position was for a full time EA, he feels the CEO may need time to see if it is a good fit. I have no idea how long "temp" is considered before they would offer the permanent position. It feels like a bait and switch and there are no guarantees.

Get as many recommendations on LinkedIn as you can and network with people and help them out. Know how to network and be helpful.
I mentored other younger assistants. I started this blog while temping/job hunting and I was allowed to write or do personal side projects as long as it was not interfering with my work. I also started a book club, a meet up group, went to networking events, book lectures, and now I am very much into Yelp and Yelp events.
Is it possible to get a list of attendee email addresses to network after the webinar? She often lists all associations in the back of her publication and has a wide network across the globe of resources for administrative professionals. (JF). It’s a great way to mentor, as well as network.
I was out of work, temping here and there for a year. There are also sites for networking to keep your name out there. A good way to network in person is through professional associations. Being a member is not only a great place for networking, but for mentoring and learning of jobs in your area.
