0830 – Spend time on the train reviewing my to-do list and it seems that I have quite a few tasks that require answers from other people. I also have a quick check over my emails and calendar for the day, I do have a few meetings today that I also need to attend. 1745 – On the train home and am able to reflect on the day.

This is where an assistant network can come in handy. I often reach out to my network to get answers to problems that come up at the office or just to lend a sympathetic ear. 0810 – I’m on the early train into work today as there is a Board meeting starting at 9am. 0845 – It should be the best day to be able to follow the routine as all of my Directors are in the board meeting from 9am until 5pm today. The last day of my productivity challenge!

If you keep telling yourself you cant do it, then of course you wont be able to, but if you say I dont know if I can, but I am going to try anyway, or I know I can do that because it was what I was trained for and then go ahead and do it, it will open all kinds of doors for you. (Or This is the time you need a lot of positive self talk.

Many times the administrative assistant position is a good way into an organization and what a great training ground to know an organizations inner workings than in this profession.
