I'm temping. I have turned down the Fortune 75 companies because the two jobs weren't right for me. Luckily, all my temping experiences have also been amazing so I've actually enjoyed my job hunt and gotten a lot out of it. For some reason, the job hunt doesn't bother me.

One of the unexpected surprises was that once my contract ended all the recruiters that I worked with said I did well and offered to help me with my job hunt too! I loved being a cheerleader for the company and helping people get hired. They are all extremely gracious and kind! So I'm covered at the central hub.

Temp, volunteer, apply for PT work and list that as your present role. While your ultimate goal is FT job in admin, the only thing that will get you there is recent experience in admin - the good ol' fashioned catch-22. So when they get that job hunting email, it's just a typical update.

If you’ve worked for the top dog at the equity firm and have a lot of experience, it’s usually understood that you are so talented you can work in any industry. Since you have already worked at a well known company, you are half way there.
