It was such fun for me to be back at IAAP's annual convention. More to come on my IAAP EFAM experience this week. I had not attended since the Reno event a few years ago, where I gave 2 presentations. This trip was different in a very fun way. I was at the OfficeArrow.com booth from 8:30 a.m. - I am often asked that question.

I just got back last night from Minneapolis and the IAAP EFAM. Sunday, I flew in from Vegas for a quick but fabulous visit at IAAP's event. I was there to be a part of the OfficeArrow.com exhibit and to sign my two "work bibles" for the administrative profession: Become an Inner Circle Assistant and Underneath It All.

I was lucky enough to participate in our IAAP AZ-NV-NM Division Annual Meeting in Tucson over the weekend and I must tell you that the quality of administrative professionals there blew me away. It’s not that way though, is it? Real life requires us to take action if we want to be a star, to be committed and engaged!

My experience is with Toastmasters and IAAP involvement, so that is where I decided to place my focus. In this brief video I share with you a lot about Toastmasters. I am sure there are many places you can develop this skill and please feel free to go where it is best for you.
IAAP have an article on their website about how to work more effectively with an administrative assistant that I suggest would be a good start for a conversation with your boss. I would often tell her to quit apologizing every time she gave me work to do as she was my boss and I was there to assist her.

There is a local chapter for IAAP but I don't find it to have the content and structure that I'm looking for. Please note that I am a member of IAAP Las Vegas Valley chapter (there are three different chapters in our city – I just had to find the right chapter for my needs). I am trying to find a local networking association.

Recently on Facebook on the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) page they had a question on what would be the ideal gift from your boss or coworker on Admin Professionals Day. Both assistants attended different parts of the tour, one Chicago, the other Cincinnati yet they are part of the same IAAP chapter.
