Living is inherently stressful, but how we manage it will determine the number and severity of the stress related symptoms we experience.
While you may find a couple of quiet days around the holiday, the rest of December can be quite stressful. Charitable organizations often run gift-wrapping services as a fund raiser. 2) Be a stress-buster Your stress level is directly correlated to the boss’s stress level. But you can put a plan in place that will reduce your boss’ stress and, therefore, your own. Your boss will see you are saving her time and see you as a stress-reducer. Your calm demeanor will lower everyone’s stress level.
Be careful what you say in stressful situations. I work in a call center and sometimes the stress of the job alone is enough to keep you on the edge. Back-to-school adds a whole new layer of commitments and stresses on top of the things that regularly need to be done. In their book, Listen Up : How To Improve Relationships, Reduce Stress , Barker and Watson say that trying to top the other person’s story is one of those irritating habits that interferes with our ability to listen well. The fellow with the peg leg says to the other, “That’s nothing, let me tell you how I got this.”
Emotional blocks – boredom, daydreaming, stress, guilt, anger and frustration reduce concentration. When you enjoy what you are doing, it reduces stress. When stress is reduced, you work more efficiently. Switching and floundering – lack of concentration and focus on one job. Use priority lists to focus attention.
The people leader role can also be stressful. Burnout is a state of physical, mental or emotional exhaustion caused by long-term exposure to stress. As well, it’s always a good idea to budget more time and resources to a project than you think is necessary to lessen the stress of unexpected setbacks. Set boundaries.
However, many people run around stressed because they’re saying yes to everybody but themselves. Even if we can use this word with our spouse and children, we still have a hard time saying it to other people. It’s important to learn how and when to say no. I’m not saying that you should be selfish and never help anybody out.
There are six areas in your life that can be improved through effective time management: The physical – being healthy with less stress and fatigue. Time management is about getting results, not about being busy. The intellectual – learning and knowledge growth and management. The career – your calling and work.

Through employee attitude surveys, focus groups and pilot tests, senior management know that employees with lower work-family conflict have less stress and anxiety about “doing it all&# and are better able to focus on their jobs and their customers. It won’t work for jobs with direct customer contact. The employee will give more.

" The playing field of the world is leveling off which means that the competition, pace and stress levels are at maximum. But ironically, all that unfinished "little stuff" can stress us out more than the big projects we haven't gotten around to yet. It beats keeping it bottled up causing more stress.
