It is entirely possible for you to essentially eliminate the use of paper faxes by using electronic faxing, in which you generate an in-bound fax to the computer system you use. It is even possible for you to signature-stamp or electronically sign any documents which will be outgoing.
I remember once an assistant from a law firm sent a fax to my boss by mistake and it had the legal advice they were giving their client, which my boss wasn't supposed to see, so she immediately called and asked me to trash it and that she would send the correct fax.
