It does take skillfulness to create a domain that someone hasn’t chosen. Thoughts… people have fear! Scared of being responsibly creative.
You have to be disciplined with money, a skill many writers don’t have. I’ve also done the freelancing thing–learning to market myself, developing my money management skills and learned to juggle. There’s no paycheck. There are invoices and payments after you finish your work.
