PA Networking. Niche networking is a big trend for 2014 so it would seem assistants are ahead of the curve on this one!

Fortunately the police managed to stop the would be terrorists but it did lead to chaos on the transport network. We wheeled TVs into the catering area so on the breaks they could keep up with events and make a judgement call if they needed to leave at any point. Many of the delegates were worried about getting home.

Get as many recommendations on LinkedIn as you can and network with people and help them out. Know how to network and be helpful.

The important thing I learned is, he’s an event planner, he hosts parties, he meets lots of people, and to him, the fact that I sent a thank you card said something about me. My job is anything from deliver memos to different people on other floors to stuffing THOUSANDS of invitations to be mailed out for movie premieres.
