I tried my best to not be tethered to my phone, emails, texting and more. Emails have backed up or even if you were checking email, you still go back through to make sure you didn’t miss anything or you now have to take action on your emails. Those first two days back can feel overwhelming.

I don''t take or make calls outside those hours, and most of the time, I don''t answer email, either (see 1c for the exception to the email rule). Another couple of popular obvious contexts would be “Computer” or “Phone.” Some of the looks are indicative of “a-ha moments” while others are more quizzical. Instead, we tend to work by project.
