Lately I've been poking around online trying to see what else is out there for self-branding and jobhunting. I enjoy doing this and it helps when I volunteer or make suggestions to those I'm mentoring or friends who ask me questions. I'm by no means an expert in social media at all.
Is it possible to get a list of attendee email addresses to network after the webinar? The baby boomers, Gen Y’s, and millenniums are mentoring each other both on technology and human moments. Many of our corporate clients wants their baby boomers to mentor the younger generation coming into the workplace. I am excited.
If you’re not happy with your options, it may be helpful to talk to a trusted advisor or mentor, or engage with a career coach to help you prepare for your next step. If the answer is no, start preparing for a jobhunt. Train and mentor others. Then, take some time to think through the ideas they provide.
OR if you want to EMAIL me why you would PAY to hire someone like me, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Are you looking for networking advice, jobhunting advice, resume services, interview prep, career navigation, LinkedIn self branding, or getting mentored about career/life?
The point is to assist them but not just pick up their drying cleaning and walk their dog, but to manage their life and schedule as close to a regular EA job. Even asking to intern, shadow, or be mentored by someone well respected is a great first step. 5) Look for jobs under different titles with the same skill set.
I would like to email her after they meet to let her know I am interested in the role. To email her expressing my interest and why I would be great in the role? Don’t automatically assume because the package looks good or the job sounds great on paper you will like it. Jobhunting and dating are very similar.
I mentored other younger assistants. I started this blog while temping/jobhunting and I was allowed to write or do personal side projects as long as it was not interfering with my work. And anyone can email me questions and I respond only via this blog, not to your personal address. You can just write “Thx!”
How do I get a recommendation letter from my boss for a new jobhunt without raising suspicion or improve my situation without my boss’ help? It’s such a shame that there aren’t more managers who are good mentors that help each individual grow and learn more in their roles. Happy jobhunting and keep me posted!
For any new readers, I will answer your entire email line by line and explain general information which may or may not apply to you, and give you some things to ponder. I’m sorry to hear that a job you loved moved cities so you had to find your current role. So I read a lot about happiness, jobhunting, and a meaningful life.
I will answer your questions by addressing your entire email and I will answer from two perspectives - 1) I used to and still sometimes work in a recruiting capacity and 2) as a job applicant and EA. Because I knew nothing about the job except my title (EA) and the dept (I think it was in marketing). You can just write “Thx!”
6) Be strategic about your career plan and jobhunt. If you’ve been doing the same job every year without any growth or increased responsibility, you really only have 2 years of experience that’s been repeated X amount of years. Just being in their presence means being informally mentored by osmosis.
In fact, according to a 2022 LinkedIn survey, 85% of all jobs are filled through networking. So whether you’re jobhunting or building industry connections, networking can unlock countless opportunities. Mentorship Opportunities: Networking can help you find mentors who guide your professional growth.
