Choose the right working vacation destination If it’s critical that you are available in case of emergencies during business hours in your home city, traveling more than a couple time zones away may not be wise. A location that’s too remote may not work if Wi-Fi and phone service are not up to par.

It’s a reminder to all of us that depending on one system alone works fine, right up until the time that it doesn’t. In this case, commercial email services were affected, but the next time it could be your server at work.
