Pets have become a huge part of American culture and bring joy to many homes, but are there benefits of having a pet that contribute to our overall success? That depends on how you define success. I’ve lived in cities as large as London and as small as Asheville, North Carolina (the latter of which packs a punch of flavor that hits harder than many major cities twice its size). Suffice it to say, I would have never anticipated landing in a tiny college town in the cornfields, but I’m only an hour from the Second City, and Chicago enthralls me every time I hop on the Metra and ride into the city.
