  Eliminate a lot of paper by having your statements sent to you electronically in PDF format.    Then , either go to the manufacturer's web site and download the manual (to be saved electronically in a computer file) or check out www.Retrevo.com.   Most banks now offer this service for free.

My scanner serves all these purposes -- scan a document in and you can then e-fax it over the internet, print out a copy, edit it directly through OCR software, save it as a PDF and toss the paper. .

Your company may have a strict policy on what they want you to include in the signature line and what it should look like, but generally you would include your name, title, company name and address, telephone and fax number. I agree with downloading backgrounds. Our firm doesnt allow for it, because of the viruses and spyware.

Cover Your Tracks: E-mail Archiving

One is the easier way, where you download a file; the other is the longer way. The reason I use the latter method is because our company policy is that we cant download any software that IT doesnt approve. To back up your e-mails in Outlook, simply download Microsofts Outlook Add-In file here.
