I was worried that this might be found to be anecdotal but there is a rise in discussion around etiquette coaches ( LA Times and Business Insider ). Don’t just download a “how to make a remote policy” guidebook from the internet, talk to your people and get to know how the policy will really affect them.
You won’t make any friends in business if you don’t respect the basic rules of etiquette, and this is certainly one of the most important. Have you downloaded my free career management mini-workbook yet? There is simply no excuse for failing to do so. It’s unprofessional and it puts an unfair burden on the employer.
