As an assistant I often felt that keeping the office green was mainly my responsibility, so much so that during my time in one company I did email my colleagues a list of things that would help them to do their bit for the environment. Recycle scrap paper for notes / doodling etc. Recycle any waste paper using the bins provided.

My "gateway" email addresses. I use multiple email addresses rather than filters for a number of reasons, which I discussed in an earlier post. Having a virtual assistant (or Zirtual Assistant, in this case) afforded me the opportunity to offload my "gateway" email addresses to someone else. The 3 Things I Learned. It''s great.

Check your email. Doodle on a note pad. Doodling doesn’t work with a pen because you can’t erase mistakes. Look at your email. Read that long chain email someone forwarded to you. Forward that chain email to all your friends. Send an email to your client. Could have been a dream.

Dispatch: My email app of choice, even though it''s iOS only. I don''t want to spend too much time in email, and Dispatch gives me the ability to get those emails that need deferring to the right app (Evernote for ideas and OmniFocus or Asana for tasks). Travel: Tripit , Perfect Weather, SkyMotion, Google Maps, Maps, Uber.
