Joy ( @leslieajoy ) April 19, 2010 at 2:06 am I think that in the same way it’s suggested that writers set aside time each day to write, everyone (bloggers or non-bloggers), should set aside some time each day for learning and keeping up on new trends. Afterwards, take the topics on that list and learn about them.
If I’m pointing out my mistakes and how I learned a better way, it doesn’t come off as condescending. Pointing out past mistakes and how you grew and learned from it exudes confidence. That’s something handy to develop, hands down! Arrogant copy drives me crazy. But like you said, all the time? Definitely not.

Those blogs are worth their weight in gold (unless you’re the kind who learns from the School of Hard Knocks). It’s hard to learn as much from the ‘perfect’ bloggers – and their message eventually starts to sound like a string of platitudes. However, it’s not a good thing either to be sloppy.
While training for competition, I learned many valuable lessons (beyond the kind that made sure you didn’t canter off to your death). We can only learn from our mistakes, and move ahead. I also learned that goodie from my riding teacher and it has served me well. Once it’s in your blood, you can never go back.

They’re Splogs – Spam Blogs – and google hates them. It’s not 1999 anymore, people know how to use email and are tired of spam.
These past customers might come back to you after having learned your true value to them. Avoid rubbing salt in the wound; these customers just learned a hard lesson. April 2, 2010 at 7:01 pm The only thing I’d caution readers on (and I learned this the hard way) is that you need to make sure you take advantage of paid work whenever it’s available; marketing is great, but don’t spend all hours marketing and not making immediate revenue. I think we’ve all arrived at a very special place.
Where do you learn to get comfortable with all this? Learn how to spin right? Always was a loner and never really felt comfortable with marketing until I learned to be comfortable. But unless you’re willing to back all that up with your own confidence, none of it matters as much as you think. Todd – love the analogy!
You put hours of effort and study into learning a certain subject inside and out. You probably can’t remember when you last put the knowledge you learned in university to work in your everyday business affairs. You’ve probably forgotten half of what you learned, too. I didn’t pay attention to what I’d learned.
I guess they’re still learning or I need to keep looking for super high-quality. I learned a while back that saying yes to yourself first is what really makes the difference between a healthy person and someone run down and tired. It’s always fun to work with people who can accurately tell me when to expect their work.
