I used to get really hurt and instantly defend myself if I received any type of hateful email. Mentoring and collaboration are very important for that, even if it means taking the next step and hiring a consultant. If I could do it again, I would have appreciated a mentor, someone who would have encouraged me to work in any sort of job I liked for a year after high school, save up money and travel.
