Find yourself a mentor that you look up to. I would also learn earlier on how to train yourself to switch off. After her talk I knew that I had to do it for Guernsey as there weren’t any real PA training courses or anything like what we were thinking of doing. I would also recommend joining a local PA network.

Join a committee or run for a leadership position. This program pairs adult mentors with teens who need a little extra support and guidance to finish high school. My fellow mentors are all amazing people who share my values and have similar personal goals. Don’t be a wallflower or an observer. Get involved.
