For me, seasonal overwhelm is a combination of my granddaughter’s soccer practices and games, seasonal activities like apple picking and pumpkin carving parties, increased client projects, and trying to plan for the fast-approaching holiday season. Plus, the end of the fiscal year coincides with the holiday season.
Now, for my important message and words of wisdom for the holidays. We become role models and mentors. Also make sure you don’t sabotage your career by letting your hair down too much at the company holiday party. When we lead in the 5 Pillars of our life, we naturally lead others. We become that ray of hope for others.
It’s not even too early to begin dreaming about what we want to accomplish next year beyond the holiday season so quickly approaching. This would be a good time to send a hand-written thank-you note to your mentor, those you’ve networked with, or that colleague who recommended a great book or suggestion for growth.

The holidays are quickly approaching and this is the time of year when we reflect on our successes and goals and also begin thinking about what we can do to reach the next level the following year. Some have lost jobs, didn’t get promotions or pay raises, or lost funding due to employer budget cuts. Lets grow together!
I was also casually mentored yesterday while speaking to one of our spiritual leaders. I am pleased to say I am really sticking to a budget this year for Christmas spending. Did you write a reasonable budget for your holiday shopping? Are you nurturing your Spiritual Pillar on a regular basis? Are you living in spirit?
As well, it’s always a good idea to budget more time and resources to a project than you think is necessary to lessen the stress of unexpected setbacks. A good people leader is always willing to mentor and assist their team members. Set boundaries. Get support.
