I’ve written a few blogs recently on how to work with confidential documents particularity when your desk is in an open plan office. It is a subject that most assistants would have wrestled with in their career and at times probably have found themselves in a difficult position so I thought it would be good to discuss this over a few blogs.
I read an article called How to Stop the Gossip on Lynn Gaertner-Johnston’s blog that made the point of how important it is that we proofread our documents as well as do spell check and grammar checks. I recently added a post called " Outlook Rules That Rule " from a fellow Administrative Assistants blog. Do you feel overwhelmed with trying to figure out who you should respond to first? This basically shows you how to make your e-mails go directly into certain categories, folders, you name it.
Rather than posting on your own blog or message board about issues elsewhere, take your critics to court on their own territory and neutralize the issue in front of their audience. Some criticisms just are not worth responding to, most notably ‘snark’-style blog comments and angry gossip articles.
