While they do work together to save you time, effort, and stress, they are not the same. They save you time and unnecessary stress. Determine the agenda and who is presenting. Send out the meeting invitation to all participants. Determine catering needs for the meeting. Order food for the meeting.
Minute taking definitely isnt easy, but it doesnt have to be stressful. Below are a few tips so the task is not as daunting: Filling in the blanks I take minutes on a laptop so it is easy to make a template ahead of time which is based on the agenda. They rely on me to know the ins and outs of the meeting.
If I forgot to bring my laptop with me to a meeting out of town, that would be an almost disaster for me because I prepare my minutes ahead of time on my computer and basically all I have to do at the meeting is fill in the blanks. Another thing to put on your checklist if you are using a laptop is a memory stick.
Much easier than searching in Outlook and less stressful. When a meeting is finalized, I put the scheduling sheet in a completed file. Another benefit to writing it down is if your boss asks you to cancel it or to quickly tell you when the meeting is, you can look at the sheet rather than trying to search for it in your calendar.
Then it is a simple matter of filling in the blanks on the day of the meeting. This does increase the preparation time, but on the day of the meeting it goes very smoothly with no stress. To prepare a minute template simply use your agenda and put it in minute format.
