This is a good thing and a big learning curve for me. In starting 2019 off on hopefully on the right foot, I am looking for advice on how to stay organized with all the meetings. Making sure agendas are going out timely, meeting with leaders to create the agenda, taking notes, bringing attention to meetings, etc.
Not all people who planmeetings are “meeting planners,” nor do all meeting planners start out their careers as meeting planners. Not only did I set the meetings up, but I also took notes (in shorthand no less), transcribed the notes and prepared final reports for dissemination. Program Content/Agenda .
Identify the objective for your meeting. If you do not have a clear objective, then there is no sense holding a meeting. Distribute an agenda to participants before the meeting. Participants should come prepared for their meeting. Participants should know what is expected of them prior to a meeting.
This does increase the preparation time, but on the day of the meeting it goes very smoothly with no stress. To prepare a minute template simply use your agenda and put it in minute format. Below are a few tips so the task is not as daunting: Filling in the blanks I take minutes on a laptop so it is easy to make a template ahead of time which is based on the agenda. I put the items from the agenda on the template in the same order and with a space to put the discussion and decisions/actions from the meeting.

Another benefit to writing it down is if your boss asks you to cancel it or to quickly tell you when the meeting is, you can look at the sheet rather than trying to search for it in your calendar. Never underestimate what you can learn from other assistants. Learning from each other is a necessity. (New

Other ways you can learn new things is to: Subscribe to feeds from various admin or business sites. I drag it to my Tasks and set a reminder so I can follow up whether the item was received.
