It is very useful to use an annotated agenda. For those who have never used one, it is simply an agenda with notes on it. I prepare meeting templates for all the meetings I will need to take minutes at and fill it in as much as possible beforehand from the agenda. For those who have never tried it, the meeting template is just your agenda, turned into a minute template.
Other things you can put in the comments section would be: call-in numbers if it is a teleconference agenda address/directions to get to the meeting confirmed attendance list with phone numbers (especially if your boss is the Chair) and any other information you think would be helpful.
You can add the agenda to the meeting request by attaching it. To add an attachment, click on the Insert tab and choose Attach File or Attach Item. When you send it to the attendees they will have all the information they need for the meeting.

Preparing for when everyone gets back - I have a meeting on the Friday after the holidays so will prepare the draft agenda and any materials so my boss can look them over when he gets in and then I will be able to quickly get the package ready to send out and prepare my minute template. It is hard to keep yourself motivated otherwise.

This also works with your Calendar, which comes in handy if you want to either insert the agenda or another document from Word, or if you need to insert an e-mail. I always put OPEN FOR DETAILS in the subject line however, as it is not always evident in a meeting request that there is anything else in it unless you know to open it.
