After only 2 weeks, I found a great company through a staffing agency and the position was full time working for a wonderful CEO. The staffing agent asked if I was open to temp to perm, even though the position was for a full time EA, he feels the CEO may need time to see if it is a good fit. How long do you think is fair?

Believe it or not, while some EAs do hold tremendous power, because travel is a very expensive and uncomfortable aspect of business, many executives or companies are very specific on what is or isn't allowed and which airlines they will or won't fly. One of the most surprising things for me was to learn that not all companies will give you an expense account or a company credit card. That’s assuming you have enough free time to do an expense report immediately for 2 hours on top of your already busy schedule. You have to wear a different outfit each time.

The shortest route is to look for temp work thru agencies or TaskRabbit, Craiglist, or volunteer. Since becoming a lawyer is such a long and expensive road, it’s hard to imagine why anyone would change their mind since it wasn’t an impulse decision in the beginning. You want to gain as much relevant experience as you can.
