One other thing I’d add for freelancing–and it’s either a pro or a con depending how you look at it–is that you need to build your network of freelancers through professional organizations, meetups or some other way. This is a great list and is something people should really think about before taking the plunge.
The hard part of it all is convincing a client to work with a freelancer instead of an agency.
