As many of my regular readers already know, I am a proud former administrative professional. I have a deep admiration and appreciation for those who dedicate themselves to support roles, which is one of the reasons I now focus a large part of my corporate training business on working with administrative teams.
I started administrativetraining in a few of the companies where I worked. I started Office Dynamics in 1990, when there was no one company specializing in in-depth training for administrative professionals. There were training companies like Skillpath and AMA but they offered tons of programs for all types of careers.

Regardless of your job title, intelligence level or personal skill set, there is one certainty that always holds true: You simply cannot achieve your vision of greatness (whatever it may be) without the help of other people. You can view our past free webinar library of administrativetraining programs here.
In fact, it’s one of the reasons why administrativetraining is more necessary than ever. I believe it is the assistant’s responsibility to train executives how to leverage them. It requires a new set of skills for making the partnership work, which again highlights the ongoing need for training.
28 years as the visionary for the administrativetraining industry? Your skills and talents can shine. The approach I took with my communication style was as if I was sitting at a coffee shop with an assistant, what would I straight out say to this assistant? What have I learned over four decades of being in the business world?
Kerri and Michelle took the stage in sunglasses, saying they had wanted to change the culture of their company through administrativetraining! Of course this profession is near and dear to my heart since I worked in the administrative profession for 20 years and Office Dynamics has been dedicated to administrativetraining and development for 25 years. Joan Burge has been a visionary for administrativetraining and development since 1990. As a one-time highly appreciated Admin herself, she knows how effective finely honed skills are … let me learn how to do it and I’ll do it. She has gone kicking and screaming onto new playing fields. Well, she is not in-charge.
But there aren’t a lot of things in life I can say I have loved and devoted my life to and been as passionate about as being a visionary for the administrative profession. While many times, it was an uphill battle, I really have loved serving the administrative career community and the executives those individuals support.
