ADHD can be tough for anyone to handle, but for an administrativeprofessional, where things like attention to detail, time management, and organization are literally in the job description, it can mean disaster. . It stays in front of me throughout the day on a bright notepad sitting on the right hand side of my keyboard.
We’re examining what we accomplished, how we grew as administrativeprofessionals, and how that energy was leveraged toward the business’ objectives. Seeing it propped up on my keyboard tray provides a continual reminder about the initiatives I want to leverage both at work and in my personal life.
Paperwork is part and parcel of being an administrativeprofessional, clerk, or receptionist. While the constant flow of paperwork into your hands can''t be helped, you can take measures to limit the amount of paperwork that builds up around you. Throw away old papers, empty boxes, crinkled notes, and dried-up pens.
New executives are computer savvy and are comfortable on a keyboard. As they try to juggle the role of doing their job and the administrative part of the work as well, that makes for a heavy workload that could easily be handled by the administrative assistant. professional assistant where are we headed? Are we ready?
On that note, It is hard to believe we are getting close to AdministrativeProfessionals Day which is on April 22 nd. Of course what works for me will probably not apply to you so you need to set up folders that apply to your working situation, but the fewer the better. What I especially like about it is now when I need to find an e-mail that my boss sent me, it is not tangled up with all the other e-mails, but in a folder all its own. " Warning!
Another time I was trying to find a full-serve gas station to fill up, but there was nothing to be found. It was expensive,but when I brought it home I had to do all the work to get it up and running. What about in the office, are we asking our bosses to self-serve or are we providing quality administrative services?
I take the bus to work and I often see people getting on a busy bus and then going through their backpack or purse looking for their bus tickets and holding up the line. I like to be prepared and I find life just works better for me at home, work and even on the bus, when I am organized and ready for whatever is coming up. no tickets.
