However, after a recent turn of events such as staffing vacancies and promotions, I have found myself providing administrative support to several other key managers while we recruit for vacant positions. Listen with empathy not sympathy and be assertive in your response. I would highly suggest that both new and more "seasoned" administrativeprofessionals print this out and keep it close by. Let them have their words. Do not interrupt. When they are finished, ask questions to clarify their feelings. Seek answers.

Not only is it okay that you are assertive and have an opinion, but other people are actively looking for the answers and the unique perspective you provide.
You may have to agree to disagree, but at least you will have expressed your thoughts in a professional manner and you will still have a job.
