This is what we do: My husband monitors travel sites and email subscription services for super-cheap flights or error fares. Sometimes one of us travels for work and the other tags along. With us, travel is always interesting. Of course, the investment in travel goes well beyond money. I am not a flexible person.
Embracing a lifestyle defined by flexibility and adventure, digital nomads have redefined the traditional notions of work and travel. Women Traveling Alone Should Enjoy Themselves. Traveling alone has many benefits. I have been traveling for business for 25 years and 90% of the time, I travel alone. I enjoyed a beautiful meal at NHube (the hotel restaurant and bar) and I also took a look around the hotel, which I must say is one of the nicest I have seen since I moved to Barcelona last year. After many many years of booking business travel to Houston for my Executives I finally got to travel there myself in January 2014. As you would expect there service levels are incredibly high particularly in restaurants, hotels and bars. For assistants, planning will be crucial when organising business travel to Houston.
Having booked business travel to Houston more times than I can actually remember I am very aware of how little time executives have when they arrive in Houston. Most business travellers attend their meetings and leave so I always try to book my executives into a hotel that allows them to see at least a little bit of Houston.
As there isn’t too much around the hotel itself (although within 10 minutes you are in the town centre) it was really handy having a cafe and restaurant on site. Breakfast was served in the Sonoma restaurant which has fantastic views of River Lagan and the famous docks. Advertised minimum rate per night is £129 (November 2014).
The hotel is surrounded by really nice restaurants, shops, cafes and bars which makes it a perfect location if you are travelling over for business and do not have a car. There are of course plenty of dining options within the hotel complex with three restaurant and bars – Monnalisa, the Bistro and the Bistro Bar.
The restaurants were packed, the bars were swinging; unfortunately the shops were closed but as glamorous as the residents strolling along the sidewalk. I made my way back onto King Street having received a restaurant recommendation from the concierge. Advertised minimum rate per night $149 (January 2014). . What an experience!
It has a boutique feel, is very contemporary but has all of the mod cons you come to appreciate when travelling on business. The restaurant was booked for a private event – showing how popular the space and the food is – so that evening I had dinner in the lobby area. Why book Le Méridien for your boss?
The Nadler Soho is located just off Soho Square which is pretty much in the centre of London’s West End with its theatres, restaurants, bars and shops all within walking distance. The hotel also offers guests a number of discounts with local restaurants, including 20% off breakfast in Quo Vadis on Dean Street.
The Polo Bar was full of locals and hotel residence and the Tsukiji Restaurant was very popular too. The Westbury is also home to a Michelin starred restaurant run by Alyn Williams. The restaurant was very busy and the wait for the food was quite a bit longer than you would normally expect. The hotel was, however, still jumping.
The Cameron House 2014 edition offers exceptional service. This new found exacting attention to their visitors allow the amazing rooms, bars and restaurants to shine. Cameron House is also a foodies dream location with four great restaurants owned by Cameron House plus the Michelin starred restaurant located in the hotel.
The Doubletree was situated in the heart of downtown Memphis; close to plenty of fantastic restaurants, shops and local attractions including the Fedex Forum and Memphis Redbirds stadium. To be fair I used to travel to university from St Pancras back in the early 2000′s and it was still a little rough around the edges but since then the area between two of London’s busiest train stations has changed completely. Especially for those travelling to and from Europe via St. A great touch, I must say.
It is a lovely part of Geneva with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you might need if you can’t quite face the expensive local restaurants and the fridge was thoughtfully stocked with fruit juices, water and fizzy drinks. I genuinely think 2014 was a turning point in our industry and I think 2015 will see a consolidation of our efforts to take our profession forward. After travelling the 100 miles or so from Glasgow we arrived on a typically busy Saturday evening. Breakfast takes place in the conservatory conservatory-style, AA Rosette restaurant, The Maze. If your executive doesn’t yet travel to Dundee they may in the future so keep the DoubleTree on your must book list.
It was evening by the time I arrived into Toronto and as it was also Valentine’s Day the city’s bars and restaurants were packed with couples and singles alike. There are loads of options for bars and restaurants near to the hotel – guests really are spoiled for choice. Not before long I called the night to an end.

If your boss is going to Geneva on business Hotel N’vY is a smart choice – it is in a great location, the restaurant and bar are lovely, it is reasonably priced and it has character. If your boss is travelling on business to the City of London you can’t go wrong with Threadneedles. It is a beautiful hotel right in the middle of the city, the lobby is a great place for meetings as are the restaurant and bar areas. Advertised minimum rate per night is £180 (September 2014).

I had just spent 2 months travelling around a freezing USA and although back in the UK my body was still a little cold, a little jet lagged and in serious need of some rest and relaxation. Walking into the Lobby Bar at One Aldwych will always evoke some powerful memories but yet I have never stayed in the hotel or eaten in one of the restaurants. During the 10 minutes I had to wait for my room I was able to rest my travel weary body on one of the comfortable sofas next to the open fire in the lobby area. The hotel is right in the centre of the Gold Coast which means that the city’s best restaurants are a short walk away (not to mention the most amazing shops).
