Coming off the back of hosting the Ryder Cup in 2014 it has been an unprecedented busy couple of years; firstly preparing for one of the world’s main golfing events and then gearing up to celebrate the hotel’s milestone birthday. All of their restaurants are open to Gleneagles guests and day visitors alike.

Despite its slightly outlying location with a compact city like Dundee the hotel is still only 15mins taxi from the train station and only 10mins from the increasingly international focused airport on the banks of the River Tay. Breakfast takes place in the conservatory conservatory-style, AA Rosette restaurant, The Maze.

New York, Barcelona, Seattle, not many tiny towns can sit proudly on an international list like this, but owing to the swinging of a golf club St. There are over 200 bedrooms, a fantastic spa and a few restaurants, making this without doubt a complex in more than name. Advertised minimum rate per night is £139 (December 2014).

The surprises began with dinner at the swankiest restaurant from their hometown in Brussels and progressed to skydiving, matching tattoos and a “bachelor’s” weekend in Ireland. He started with his wife, Dawn, and has been doing it alone since her death in 2014. She woke him up at 5:30 a.m. foster care system for over 20 years.

The Gold Coast area has lots of hotels but they are predominately owned by international chains and so The Talbott is quite unique and I think it makes all the difference. The hotel is right in the centre of the Gold Coast which means that the city’s best restaurants are a short walk away (not to mention the most amazing shops).
