In 2024, Leo and I caught up to reflect on how much – or how little – has changed since our initial conversation. I’ve found that many of the lessons we discussed back in 2011 continue to resonate, especially as the pace of life and work increases. His wisdom and practices remain as relevant today as they were back then.

Since 2012, when Chance released his first mixtape after graduating from Jones College Prep in 2011, his promise has attracted attention from established artists eager to collaborate. In 2016, he co-created the Warmest Winter project, which created coats that doubled as sleeping bags for the homeless. Chance the Rapper never had a Plan B.

When his father, Japanese restaurateur and wrestler Rocky Aoki, died in 2008, Aoki wanted to learn more about the cancer that killed him. At the time of writing, there was no release date for the book announced, but Aoki anticipates that it will be released in early 2024. Aoki learned how to sing and play guitar and drums.
