It was the summer of 2001. I was so confident I was simply going to enjoy the magazine and my coffee in the waiting area. I learned one thing today. It turns out, I was 20 minutes early. I killed time by buying coffee and a magazine, and I went in to see the receptionist. I could just sit and relax and read and wait.
I lost my confidence. It all started in 2001 when I launched a service business based on just an idea. But the pain was fresh, and the daily struggle for money and confidence were keeping me stuck. I lost my savings. I lost my house. I remember lying in bed for days doing nothing but feeling the heavy gravity of the situation.
One of the questions I seem to get asked a lot when I present on Telesummits is to talk about some of the biggest challenges and/or mistakes I’ve faced during my business journey, and how my experiences and learnings can help other business owners.
